Just wanted to share a recap of what to expect this week! I cannot believe it is already here. Hopefully this will answer questions you may have.
MONDAY (7/19) - LEADERSHIP CAMP ONLY
Time: 9AM-2PM
All leadership, this includes Band Captain, Drum Majors, Section Leaders, Aux Captains, Percussion Captain, is required to come. We will be discussing the year and getting some thing prepared for camp. Please dress appropriately as some of you may be lining the field, cleaning coolers, etc.
TUESDAY - FRIDAY (7/20-23) - ROOKIE CAMP
Time: 8AM-12PM
Rookie camp is required for all rookies for the 2021 season and all the rookies for the past 2020 season. This is because we didn't march on the field. If you are Color Guard or Dance Line and your instructor has required you to be at one of these days, you must attend. I know Ms. Detrice has required Color Guard to be at the Tuesday Rookie Camp. Please dress appropriately and bring the following:
-Instrument
-Music (We will give it to you, don't worry)
-Water
Attire for all camps for band members, at minimum, is tennis shoes/or similar (no crocs, flip flops, etc), shorts and a short sleeve t-shirt is recommended. Sunglasses and hat are encouraged as well.
We will spend 8-10AM outside and 10AM-12PM inside.
TUESDAY - FRIDAY (7/20-23) - PERCUSSION/AUXILIARY CAMP
Time: 1-5PM
As with Rookie Camp, appropriate attire is required. Auxiliary, your instructor has given you instructions on what to wear. You will need all equipment for these rehearsals. Please make the most of this specialized time for you all.
IF you are attending Rookie Camp and are a percussionist or auxiliary, you may stay in the band room during the transition. Please note the staff will be eating their lunch during this time and will not allow you to stay if behavior is an issue.
