Ranburne High School Band Program
The Ranburne High School Band has 5 bands:
6th Grade Beginner Band- 6th grade- performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. This band meets during the school day.
7th & 8th Grade Intermediate Band- The Intermediate Band performs together in the Christmas Concert and Spring Concert. This band meets together during school and sometimes after school previous to upcoming concerts. During the school day, Intermediate band members meet during the school period and marching band members stay after school during the fall.
9-12 Concert Band- The Concert Band performs at the Christmas Concert, the Spring Concert, and at the ABA Music Performance Assessment in the Spring. This class meets during the school day and a student does not have to participate in Marching Band to be involved in this band. In the spring semester, in preparation for MPA, there may be after school rehearsals.
8-12 Marching Band- The Marching Band is open to students in grades 7-12. Students in 6th grade may participate as a band pup or helper. This is an extra-curricular band. Auditions for Majorette, Danceline, Drumline, and Drum Major are held in the Spring. Summer Practices and Band camp are held In the summer and throughout the fall. The Marching band practices after school on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The Marching Band performs at RHS Football games, fundraisers, parades, and even competes in Marching Competitions.
8-12 Jazz Band- The Jazz Band is open to students in grades 8-12. Students perform in the Spring Concert and Solo & Ensemble. The Jazz Band may also perform at local venues.
Other opportunities for Ranburne Band students include Honor Bands, All-State, and Solo & ensemble in the Spring.
