MPA will be one day between February 27th-March 1st, decided by my president, as soon as I have the date I will let you all know so that you can make plans to attend and support the kiddos. Both my 7th-8th grade band and 9th-12th grade band will travel, however it will most likely not be on the same day. MPA will be held at Gadsden High School during the school day and will be a field trip for the students, we will ride a bus there.
This year for the concert attire, we will move to concert black. Those of you who have been attending the booster meetings will already know this, but I am including a picture of what concert black is.
Concert black is a black dress shirt with black pants or a school appropriate length skirt with black dress shoes and black socks or tights. You may also choice to wear a black dress. All items must be SOLID black, no other colors included! I know that this is a new concept here at RHS, but those who have seen other concert ensembles have seen this look before. Concert black is a standard norm attire for performing ensembles. We will wear concert black every year for MPA going forward, so this is by no means a one time outfits.
You can find these shirt at many stores, but I will include some links for those who need them

All-state audition times
Here are the times for my students auditioning for all-state. Please allow yourself time to register as well as warm up. Please remember that you will all need your own copy of the book for auditions, they will check this at registration, a photo copy is not allowed.
You will audition in two rooms, first your scale rooms, and if you pass your minimum required 5 scales and corelating arpeggios(MS) or seven scales and corelating arpeggios (HS) then you will proceed to the etude room. After you have auditioned you are free to leave. Make sure that you are quite in the hallways. no talking or playing.
We will NOT be traveling together. I have to judge, so I will be at the site all day, whereas you are only required to be there for your audition time. Results will be posted online, I will post the link once I have it.
