I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break. We are in the final stretch to the end of the semester. Please read the following concerning the rest of the semester.
Orlando Trip
The November payment is due today. Please note we have received a lot of payments (thank you!) but we still need others to catch up with their fees. Please note you cannot pay any trip fees until your band fees are paid off. Soon we will have to make the decision on proceeding with the trip due to payments. Please take care of this as soon as possible. Remember there is NO payment for the end of December.
Jazz Band
Today Jazz Band has practice until 4:30PM. At 5:15PM we will move down to the town hall in Ranburne and play for the Christmas Tree Lighting at 6PM. Once we play, students will have some time to enjoy some snacks and drinks. Soon after, we will leave back to the band room. Please note that the band room will be locked at 6:45PM. Students do not need to wear anything special, but just to dress warmly.
Parade Practice & Parade
Thursday will be the final marching band practice. We will be practicing until 5:00PM. The parade is Saturday, December 7th. Call time is 12:00PM in the band room. Students will need to quickly get dressed in uniform and be outside, ready to go. Students will need a Santa Hat for this parade. Please remember this is for a grade and unexcused absences will result in a zero.
Cookie Dough
Our cookie dough is expected to be here Friday, December 6th. Please note this is an estimate and may change. I will let you know the closer we get. Please make sure all Cookie Dough goes home before the weekend if they arrive Friday.
Christmas Concert
Our Christmas Concert is December 12th. Students will need to be seated no later than 5:40PM. The concert begins at 6PM. Please stay and help put up chairs afterwards, we would greatly appreciate it. Students need to dress as follows:
Red/Green/Gold/White Top (No T-Shirts)
Black/Kahki Bottoms (Dresses are OK)
Black/Brown/Grey Shoes
The Friday after the concert, students need to take their instruments home for the break. We will be spending the next few days cleaning and organizing the band room for the Spring.
If you have any questions, please send me an email and I'll be happy to answer them. Hope everyone has a great week.
Sincerely,
Mr. Melton
