Hope everyone had a safe weekend and has power now. A couple of things to talk about this morning!
BAND BOOSTER MEETING
Tonight at 5:30PM we will be having our monthly band booster meeting in the band room. Please come and chime in as we are discussing a major fundraiser, purchases and upcoming things like the Orlando Trip. These are only 30-45min long.
SPIRIT NIGHT @ PAPA'S PIZZA
Next Tuesday, we are having our spirit night at Papa's Pizza. While we know there is a basketball game that night, people do have to eat! It will be from 4-8PM. Sign up will be posted on my door soon for students.
ALL STATE PRACTICES AND TRYOUTS
Since All-State auditions were postponed, we are having two more practices for students. One is tomorrow, Jan 14th until 4PM and the other is Jan 23rd until 4PM. Audition times and locations remain the same.
ORLANDO TRIP AND BAND FEES
The next payment for the Orlando Trip is due Jan, 31st, 2020. Please make sure these are on time as we are paying our vendors as we go. If there is an issue, please contact Ms. Kimatha. Regular band fees MUST be paid before any payment can be applied to the trip.
For band fees, these have been past due to a few months. We have a few who haven't paid these off or contacted Ms. Kimatha. Let me just say this is frustrating. We have given plenty of opportunities for these to get paid such as two fundraisers (where students get about 40% off of these) and spreading the payments out. Please know that any student with outstanding fees at the end of the year will not march next season, period. Seniors must have all fees paid off or we give it to the school and they cannot graduate. We have tried to be very understanding, since we know things happen, but please communicate with us. Please understand the reason I push fees being paid so much is that it funds our way to football games, our bus drivers, our music purchases, our staff pay, our admittance and application fees to marching competitions and MPA. If these don't get paid, the band won't be able to function.
If you have questions or concerns, please send me an email at michael.melton@cleburneschools.net. I try to be as transparent as possible.
Sincerely,
Mr. Melton
