Wanted to post this one-time reminder to help the newer students and parents out while also refreshing things.
What Do I Wear Tomorrow at School?
Band shirt or auxiliary shirt. You can participate in dress up days, just make sure you have your band shirt.
What Do I Wear for the Game?
Auxiliary: Uniforms
Band: Band T-shirt, Bibbers, Black Socks, Band Shoes
When does my student have to be in the band room?
5:30PM AL Sharp.
When are Pre-Orders Due?
The latest we take them is by call time tomorrow (5:30) Students are HIGHLY encouraged to pre-order due to the uncertainty of how much of and what the crowd buys.
When do I (student) get to eat?
3rd Quarter until 3 min before the quarter ends.
Do I have to go to the band room after the game?
Yes. Everyone marches back to the band room and we give brief announcements and the students clean up before we dismiss. If everyone pitches in, you go home quicker.
What Should I Do to Prepare for Tomorrow?
Drink WATER. Be smart and eat breakfast AND lunch. Get some sleep tonight and get ready for a lot of fun!
What if it rains?
We still will be out unless it is lightening. Woodwinds will be told to bring cases if needed. We will provide ponchos that must be returned at the end of the game.
Can I send food up to my student during the game?
No. We provide water/drinks for them at the start of the game. There is to be no soft drinks or food, unless it is 3rd quarter.
Can I sit up there with the band?
No. At this time, due to the rising numbers of Covid cases and the size of the band, only band and auxiliary will be allowed to occupy the top deck.
My student got sidelined? What does that mean?
In order to ensure every student feels successful, we hold pass-offs to ensure the entire band is successful from time to time. We promise we are not singling anyone out, but if your student didn't pass off their music/choreography or they have missed too much practice for the week, they are sidelined. As soon as they pass-off music, they'll be allowed to go on the field for the game.
Very excited to show everyone what these amazing students have worked on. We will also be playing at 6:30 in memorial for Chief Tucker.
Sincerely,
Mr. Melton
