This week is a busy week with an away game and our first competition coming up this weekend. I wanted to give you all some information regarding how things will be going for both events.
FRIDAY: We will be traveling to GASTON HIGH SCHOOL (please do not get this confused with Gadsden HS- they are not the same school!). The address to the school is 4550 US Highway 411, Gadsden, AL 35901. Call time for students to be at the RHS band room to begin getting ready and load the trailer will be 3:30PM central time. Buses will be leaving by 4:30PM central. Students will need to bring BLACK SOCKS, BAND TSHIRTS, AND GLOVES/SHOES. Students may also want to bring money for the concession stand as it will be late before we arrive back at school. Please don't forget those things!
SATURDAY: We will be traveling to Heard County High School in Franklin, GA for our first competition of the season. All students will need to be at the RHS Band room by 8AM central time in order to get ready and to load the trailer. We will be leaving on the buses by about 9AM central time. Since this is a competition and the MOST IMPORTANT TYPE OF EVENT WE PARTICIPATE IN, it is imperative that all students bring BLACK SOCKS, GLOVES, SHOES, INSTRUMENTS, MOUTHPIECES, REEDS, ETC. We can't afford to arrive at the school and have something missing that we need to perform. Our group's first performance will be at 1PM GA TIME and our second performance will be at 4PM GA TIME (they have scheduled two- one for ratings and one for the competition- go figure). Students will also need to make sure that they bring money to eat lunch and dinner while at the competition. This is a CASH ONLY event so students will not be able to pay with a credit/debit card or check. If the schedule stays true to what is planned, we will be arriving back at the RHS band room by 9:30 or 10PM central time at the end of the day.
ALSO- THE LAST PAYMENT OF YOUR BAND FEES IS DUE BY THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH! PLEASE EMAIL ME OR COME SEE ME IF YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW MUCH YOU OWE!
Thanks!
